Coburg Childrens Centre | Child Safety at CCC

Our commitment

Child Safety

CCCI is a Child-Safe organisation – We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child is protected, valued, and supported. We work hard to create an environment and organisational structure that provides safe physical spaces and a safe and supportive culture.

We focus on providing a welcoming environment to all families and staff, and we celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of our community. We welcome children and families of all abilities, Aboriginal families, gender diverse and LGBTIQA+ families, and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Our diversity is our strength.

Child Safety

Safety Standards

Children’s safety is the foundation of our governance, leadership, and decision-making, guiding our policies, and shaping our culture and values.

Our Board, made up of families, is uniquely positioned to represent the voices of children and families. At every level, child safety is the driving force behind all decisions.

Through ongoing review and improvement, we ensure our environments, programs, and culture consistently meet Child Safety Standards, empowering every child to feel safe, valued, and supported.

Keeping Children Safe

Protecting children is our unwavering commitment, and we take every possible measure to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

Coburg Children’s Centre welcomes children, families and staff from all abilities, family structures, cultures, faiths, genders and sexualities. We are a child-safe organisation. We have zero tolerance for child abuse.

We are committed to keeping children safe by empowering children’s voices and supporting our staff’s ongoing education in children’s safety.

Our community acknowledges the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the unceded Land on which we meet, work, learn and play. We empower children to become a voice of reconciliation.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land.

Child Safety

We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child is protected, valued, and supported. Our staff undergoes rigorous screening, comprehensive training, and continuous professional development to ensure they are fully equipped to uphold the highest standards of child safety and wellbeing.

To safeguard both children and staff, we implement a clear and transparent reporting system, regular safety audits, and a strong code of conduct. We also provide ongoing support and resources to help staff navigate challenges, ensuring their wellbeing is prioritised.

By fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration with families and the community, we maintain a secure environment where both children and staff can thrive.
