Coburg Children’s Centre is a community run, not-for-profit early childhood education and care service located on Wurundjeri land, near the Merri Creek in Coburg. We acknowledge the custodians of the land on which we play and work, and recognise that Aboriginal people have been providing a safe and nurturing existence for their families, on this land, for many thousands of years before us.

We offer Long Day Care for children aged 6 months to school commencement and Sessional Kindergarten for children who turn 3 or 4 before 30th April of the year they will be in kindergarten.

If your child is eligible for both, you might be wondering which you should choose. The answer depends on your family’s own situation.
The most important thing to understand is that children will have kindergarten sessions with a qualified teacher in both Long Day Care and Sessional Kindergarten. Kindergarten is integrated into Long Day Care, with kindergarten teachers working with the children each day during term time.

Sessional Kindergarten has fixed hours (two days of 8.30 to 4pm). Long Day Care has longer opening hours (7am to 6pm), so offers more flexibility to families.

Sessional kindergarten is free and we provide the option to purchase additional care before and after sessional kindergarten hours, as well as care during school holidays.

Some of our families enrol their child/ren in Sessional Kindergarten, plus one or more extra days in Long Day Care.

Yes, you’re welcome to visit the Centre! We regularly offer tours throughout the year, which are pre-booked and often conducted with other families. During the tour, which typically lasts 40 to 60 minutes, we’ll show you around and discuss our educational approach and sustainability philosophies. To book a tour, please call us at 03 9354 7633. We look forward to welcoming you!

We have a comprehensive Parent Manual available upon request.

Coburg Children’s Centre has received an overall rating of Meeting the National Quality Standard, with two out of seven areas achieving an Exceeding rating.

We also operate a fully equipped Grade 1 commercial kitchen, and our experienced kitchen team is fully qualified to provide a service that is biannually audited for quality and compliance.

CCCI is a not-for-profit Incorporated Association, managed by Educational and Operational Coordinators, in collaboration with teachers and room leaders. The Board of Management, composed of parents whose children attend the Centre, oversees the financial management and sets the strategic direction. This ensures the organisation’s decisions reflect the needs and values of its users.
