What room will my child be in?

Decisions about your child’s room are made with you because:

  1. no one knows your child as well as you do – we do not see him or her at home
  2. children often behave differently when here with their peers
  3. we want your child to be socially or emotionally secure – peer comfort rather than peer pressure
  4. our aim is for every child to develop the resources and confidence to be a leader when they choose, or call leaders to account when necessary

When will my child move to the next room?

It’s not usual to move children throughout the year. Around September each year a notice is sent to all parents asking them to come and discuss the recommendation with staff and together a decision is made. Children moving from the Joey room will have at least one educator move with them.
